1. In this Act
"Act of Canada" means The Veterans' Land Act;
"director" means the Director, The Veterans' Land Act, appointed under the Act of Canada;
"veteran" means a veteran as defined in the Act of Canada.

2. (1) The Province may enter into an agreement with the Minister of Mines and Resources (Canada), under the Act of Canada, for the settlement of veterans on Provincial land.
(2) The agreement shall contain provisions, conditions and limitations in regard to the settlement of veterans as the minister and the Province may mutually decide.
(3) The Minister of Lands, Parks and Housing for the Province is authorized to execute and deliver the agreement on behalf of the Province.

3. The Lieutenant Governor in Council may place a reservation on Crown land not exceeding 404 685 ha for the purpose of making the land specified available for settlement by veterans in accordance with the Act of Canada. The Lieutenant Governor in Council may except any tract of land from the land reserved under the order.

4. (1) The Minister of Lands, Parks and Housing for the Province may convey, free of cost, to the director, in fee simple, any tract of land not exceeding 65 ha, being part of the land on which a reservation has been placed under section 3.
(2) Every tract of land conveyed to the director under this section shall be used by the director for settlement on it, under the Act of Canada, of a veteran, and shall not be used by him for any other purpose.
(3) If for any reason a veteran is not settled on a tract of land conveyed under this section, the Province is entitled to have the tract reconveyed to it; but if a veteran is settled on it under the Act of Canada, the Province has no further claim to it.

5. If Canada in preparation for the settlement of veterans under the Act of Canada makes improvements on Crown land reserved under section 3, Canada has a lien on the land improved for the value of the improvements.

6. A grant or conveyance issued under this Act may be in the form, as nearly as may be, of a Crown grant under the Land Act, and shall be subject to the conditions, exceptions and reservations contained in section 47 (1) of that Act.
