Interpretation

1.  In this Act

"agreement" means the agreement dated March 30, 1984 between the City of Seattle in the State of Washington, United States of America and the government;

"commission" means the Commission established under Appendix D to the agreement;

"fund" means the Skagit Environmental Endowment Fund established under Appendix D to the agreement.

Powers of commission

2.  The commission has the powers and rights of a corporation in the Province including the right to acquire and dispose of real property.

3.  The commission and the fund are not liable to taxation.

4.  The commission is not an agent of the government.

Acts not applicable

5.  (1) Sections 17 (2) and 18 of the Interpretation Act do not apply to the commission.

(2) The Company Act does not apply to the commission, but the Lieutenant Governor in Council may order that one or more of the provisions apply.
