PROPOSED BOUNDARY EXTENSION — DISTRICT OF ELKFORD

Notice is hereby given, that under section 86, Alternate Approval Process, of the Community Charter and section 20 of the Local Government Act, the Council of the District of Elkford intends to petition the Minister of Community Development requesting the extension to the area of the municipality to include the following described lands:

Alternate Approval Process and Eligibility

And further take notice that the District of Elkford may proceed with the boundary extension request unless at least ten percent of the District electors indicate that a referendum must be held by submitting a signed Elector Response Form to the District office no later than 1:00 p.m. Mountain Standard Time (MST) on Wednesday, December 17, 2008.

Elector Response Forms must be in the form established by the District of Elkford and only those persons who qualify as electors of the municipality are entitled to sign Elector Response Forms.

Resident Elector — You are entitled to submit an Elector Response Form as a resident elector if you are age 18 years or older on the day of submission, are a Canadian citizen, have lived in British Columbia for at least six months, and have been a resident of the District of Elkford for the past 30 days or more.

Non-resident Elector — You are entitled to submit an Elector Response Form as a non-resident property elector if you are age 18 years or older on the day of submission, are a Canadian Citizen, have lived in British Columbia for at least six months, have owned and held registered title to a property in the District of Elkford for the past 30 days or more, and do not qualify as a resident elector. Note: Only one non-resident property elector may submit an Elector Response Form per property, regardless of how many owners there may be.

If less than ten percent (185) of the municipal electors submit an Elector Response Form, the boundary extension request will be deemed to have the approval of the electors and the District may proceed to Cabinet for approval. For the purpose of conducting the alternate approval opportunity, the number of electors is calculated at 1847.

The boundary extension is being proposed in order to bring water service to the above noted properties and eliminate boil water notices and advisories and the use of personal wells.

Alternate Approval Process and Eligibility

And further take notice that the municipality may proceed with the boundary extension request unless at least ten percent of municipal electors indicate that a referendum must be held by submitting a signed Elector Response Form to Town Hall no later than 4:30 p.m. on Monday, November 24, 2008.

Elector Response Forms must be in the form established by the Town of Princeton and only those persons who qualify as electors of the municipality are entitled to sign Elector Response Forms.

If less than ten percent of the municipal electors submit an Elector Response Form, the boundary extension request will be deemed to have the approval of the electors and the Town of Princeton may proceed to Cabinet for approval. For the purpose of conducting the alternate approval opportunity, the number of electors is calculated at 263.
