This notice is pubished to comply with section 204 of the Election Act.
The Election Act requires the Chief Electoral Officer adjust the election expenses limits for political parties, candidates and election advertising sponsors by determining the ratio between the consumer price index at January 1, 2010, and the consumer price index at the time a by-election is called.
For the 2016 Coquitlam-Burke Mountain and Vancouver-Mount Pleasant By-elections to be held on February 2, 2016, the adjusted expenses limits under section 204 of the Election Act are:
Political parties $75,941.64 Candidates $75,941.64 Election advertising sponsors $3,254.64
