Notice is hereby given that Order in Council No. 0029 was approved and ordered on February 5, 2018, authorizing:
1. An amendment to Letters Patent for the City of Dawson Creek, effective February 5, 2018, to extend the boundary of the City to include one property to the west along Highway 97, and one property south of Adams Road. This amendment is authorized under section 12 [extension of municipal area] of the Local Government Act [R.S.B.C. 2015].
2. An amendment to Letters Patent for the Peace River Regional District effective February 5, 2018, to reduce the boundary of Electoral Area D to exclude the properties noted above and transfer relevant service jurisdiction to the City. This amendment is authorized under section 44 [creation or restructure of municipality in regional district] of the Local Government Act [R.S.B.C. 2015].
Subsequently, Order in Council No. 0115 was approved and ordered on March 12, 2018, repealing the Letters Patent issued via OIC 0029 due to unclear legends for the attached Schedules (maps) and issuing new Letters Patent for both the City of Dawson Creek and the Peace River Regional District to extend of the City’s boundary as described above in “1” and reduce the adjacent Regional District electoral area boundary as described above in “2”.
A copy of the amendments to the Letters Patent, which include maps of the new boundaries of the City of Dawson Creek and Electoral Area D that show the affected parcels, may be viewed or obtained from the Governance and Structure Branch of the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, 800 Johnson Street, PO Box 9839 STN Prov Govt, Victoria, BC V8W 9T1 or viewed at the offices of the City of Dawson Creek, located at 10105 12A Street, Dawson Creek, V1G 3V7 during normal hours of operation.
