SUPPLY ACT (No. 1), 1997

Preamble

WHEREAS it appears by Message from the Honourable the Lieutenant Governor and the Estimates accompanying the Message that provision is required to defray certain expenses of the public service of the Province, and for other purposes connected with the public service, for the fiscal year ending March 31, 1998;

AND WHEREAS, in accordance with the Financial Administration Act, expenditures by Special Warrants of $98 930 000 in respect of the fiscal year ending March 31, 1997 have been submitted to the Legislature in the Schedule of this Act;

THEREFORE HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of British Columbia, enacts as follows:

Voted expenditures appropriation

1 From and out of the consolidated revenue fund there may be paid and applied in the manner and at the times the government may determine the sum of $5 040 000 000 towards defraying the charges and expenses of the public service of the Province for the fiscal year ending March 31, 1998, and being substantially 3/12 of the total amount of the votes of the main Estimates for the fiscal year ending March 31, 1998, as laid before the Legislative Assembly at the present session.

Voted financing transactions appropriation

2 From and out of the consolidated revenue fund there may be paid and applied in the manner and at the times the government may determine the sum of $942 423 000 for recoverable disbursements referred to in Schedule C of the main Estimates for the fiscal year ending March 31, 1998.

Working capital account appropriation

3 From and out of the consolidated revenue fund there may be paid and applied in the manner and at the times the government may determine the sum of $2 million to the Purchasing Commission Working Capital Account established under section 23.1 of the Purchasing Commission Act, being the amount shown for this purpose in the main Estimates for the fiscal year ending March 31, 1998, as laid before the Legislative Assembly at the present session.
