Local Government Interim Regulation
Section 334.1 (2) of the Local Government Act
1 (1) Section 334.1 (2) of the Local Government Act does not apply to an agreement under which the municipality acquires an interest or right in or with respect to land if the liability referred to in section 334.1 (1) of the Local Government Act is only that the municipality
(a) maintain the land, or
(b) indemnify the grantor of the interest or right being acquired by the municipality.
(2) Subsection (1) has retroactive effect on and after September 28, 1999.
Section 828 (3) of the Local Government Act
2 (1) Section 828 (3) of the Local Government Act does not apply to an agreement under which the regional district acquires an interest or right in or with respect to land if the liability referred to in section 828 (2) of the Local Government Act is only that the regional district
(a) maintain the land, or
(b) indemnify the grantor of the interest or right being acquired by the regional district.
(2) Subsection (1) has retroactive effect on and after January 1, 2000.
Sunset
3 This regulation ceases to have effect on the earlier of
(a) the day following the last day of the next session of the Legislative Assembly after the regulation is made, or
(b) January 1, 2002.
