Committee contribution

1   The Regional District of North Okanagan is granted the additional power to provide a contribution to the Vernon and District Queen's Committee as a local service.

Tourism/economic development

2   The Regional District of North Okanagan is granted the power to provide tourism/economic development as a local service.

Water drainage

3   The Regional District of North Okanagan is granted the additional power to undertake the collection, containment, treatment and disposal of water for drainage purposes as a local service.

Emergency Programs

4   The Regional District of North Okanagan is granted the additional power to provide Emergency Programs as an extended service under the Emergency Program Act.

Victims Assistance Program

5   The Regional District of North Okanagan is granted the additional power to provide Victims Assistance Program as an extended service.

Health regulation

6   The Regional District of North Okanagan is granted the additional power of health regulation under section 523 (1) (a) of the Local Government Act with respect to regulating persons, their premises and activities, in order to promote the preservation of health of all inhabitants of the electoral areas, as an extended service.

Development works agreements with private developers

7   The Regional District of North Okanagan is granted the additional power to enter into development works agreements with private developers as provided in section 937.1 of the Local Government Act.
