Greater Vancouver Regional District Exemption Regulation
[includes amendments up to B.C. Reg. 278/2003]
Exemption
1 (1) The Greater Vancouver Regional District is exempt from the requirement that,
(a) under section 913 (1) of the Local Government Act, bylaws of a regional district board must be submitted or forwarded to the minister, and
(b) under sections 882 (4) and 913 (2), bylaws of a regional district board must receive the approval of the minister.
(2) The exemption under subsection (1)
(a) applies to the Greater Vancouver Regional District on the basis of the Greater Vancouver Regional District's Livable Region Strategic Plan having been deemed by Minister's Order M096, dated February 10, 1996, to be a regional growth strategy adopted under Part 25 of the Local Government Act, and
(b) continues as long as the Greater Vancouver Regional District has a regional growth strategy under Part 25 of the Local Government Act.
