Utilities Commission Act

Long Lake Exemption Regulation

[Last amended April 5, 2022 by B.C. Reg. 88/2022]

Definitions

1   In this regulation:

"Act" means the Utilities Commission Act;

"Brucejack mine project" means the mine project approximately 65 km north of the District of Stewart;

"Long Lake transmission system" means

(a) the transmission system owned by Long Lake Hydro Limited Partnership, Long Lake Hydro Inc. and Premier Power Corp. on the date this regulation comes into force, and

(b) after the date this regulation comes into force, an extension or reconstruction of the transmission system referred to in paragraph (a);

"parties" means

(a) Long Lake Hydro Limited Partnership and its successors and assigns,

(b) Long Lake Hydro GP Inc. and its successors and assigns,

(c) Long Lake Hydro Inc. and its successors and assigns, and

(d) Premier Power Corp. and its successors and assigns;

"Premier Gold mine project" means the mine project approximately 25 km northwest of the District of Stewart.

Exemptions

2   The parties are exempt from Part 3 of the Act in respect of

(a) the Long Lake transmission system, and

(b) the provision of service respecting the transmission of electricity from the authority's transmission system for the following mine projects via the Long Lake Transmission system:

(i) the Brucejack mine project;

(ii) the Premier Gold mine project.
