Due date by which pre-existing owners must file transparency reports

19   Transparency reports required to be filed under section 15 (1) [transparency report required from pre-existing and other owners] of the Act must be filed on or before November 30, 2021.

Exemption related to Taxation (Rural Area) Act

21.21   A transferee from whom property was forfeited is exempt from filing a transparency declaration and a transparency report if the property vests in the transferee as the former owner under section 40 of the Taxation (Rural Area) Act.

(1) In this section, "director" has the same meaning as in the Civil Forfeiture Act.

(2) For the purposes of section 31 (3) [inspections and searches by enforcement officer and ministry officials] of the Act, the director may inspect transparency records and search reported information for the purposes of the administration and enforcement of the Civil Forfeiture Act.
