 Spouses

2  For the purposes of the Act, persons living and cohabiting with another person in a marriage-like relationship, including a marriage-like relationship between persons of the same gender, constitute a class of unmarried persons prescribed as spouses.

 Section 5.1 was enacted by BC Reg 57/2009, effective November 1, 2009.

 Section 5.2 was enacted by BC Reg 289/2021, effective May 1, 2022.

 Section 7.3 was enacted by BC Reg 57/2009, effective November 1, 2009.

 Section 14 (a) and (b) BEFORE amended by BC Reg 127/2021, effective July 1, 2021.

(a) a payment that is directed to be made into the Consumer Advancement Fund in accordance with an undertaking under section 154 [undertakings] of the Act or section 56 (2) (b) [application of Divisions 1 to 3 of Part 10 — inspections and enforcement] of the Cremation, Interment and Funeral Services Act;

(b) a payment that is directed to be made into the Consumer Advancement Fund in accordance with a compliance order under section 155 [compliance orders] of the Act or section 56 (2) (c) of the Cremation, Interment and Funeral Services Act.

 Section 15 (h) to (k) were added by BC Reg 127/2021, effective July 1, 2021.

 Part 5 and sections 16 and 17 were enacted by BC Reg 289/2021, effective May 1, 2022.
