Interim Provisional Budgeting Regulation
Application
1 This regulation applies to and in respect of a council of a municipality that, instead of adopting a financial plan as permitted by section 333 of the Local Government Statutes Amendment Act, 1999, directs the preparation in 1999 of a provisional budget under section 327 of the Municipal Act1 and adopts the provisional budget on or before January 1, 2000.
Effect of provisional budget pending first financial plan
2 A provisional budget described in section 1, of a council of a municipality, remains in effect and expenditures authorized by the provisional budget may be lawfully made, until but not after the earlier of
(a) the effective date of the first financial plan for the municipality adopted under section 327 of the Local Government Act1, as enacted by section 81 of the Local Government Statutes Amendment Act, 1999, and
(b) May 15, 2000.
