Enhanced 9-1-1 Emergency Response System

1   The Columbia-Shuswap Regional District is granted the additional power to operate an Enhanced 9-1-1 Emergency Response System as an extended service.

Economic Development Contribution

2   The Columbia-Shuswap Regional District is granted the additional power to provide Economic Development Contribution as an extended service.

Emergency Programs

3   The Columbia-Shuswap Regional District is granted the additional power to provide Emergency Programs as an extended service under the Emergency Program Act.

Flood protection

4   The Columbia-Shuswap Regional District is granted the additional power to provide flood protection, including without limitation the powers of a district municipality under sections 552 and 599 of the Municipal Act1,2, as a local service.

Salmon Arm Airport

5   The Columbia-Shuswap Regional District is granted the additional power to operate and maintain the Salmon Arm Airport as an extended service.

Transit

6   The Columbia-Shuswap Regional District is granted the additional power to provide Transit as a local service.

Financial aid toward Golden Airport

7   The Columbia-Shuswap Regional District is granted the additional power to contribute financial aid toward the cost of operation of the Golden Airport, as an extended service.

Financial aid toward Golden Cemetery

8   The Columbia-Shuswap Regional District is granted the additional power to contribute financial aid toward the cost of the Golden Cemetery, as an extended service.

Agreement to form part of regional library district

9   The Columbia-Shuswap Regional District is granted the additional power of a municipality to enter into an agreement with the board of management of a library district to form part of a regional library district under Part 4 of the Library Act, as a local service.

Removal of dangerous buildings and other structures

10   The Columbia-Shuswap Regional District is granted the additional power to exercise the powers conferred on the council of a municipality under section 727 of the Local Government Act.

Firecrackers and fireworks

11   The Columbia-Shuswap Regional District is granted the additional power to, by bylaw, regulate, prohibit and impose requirements in relation to the use of firecrackers and fireworks.
