Financial Institutions Act

Extraprovincial Corporations Exemption Regulation

 Interpretation

1  In this regulation "Act" means the Financial Institutions Act.

 Repealed

 Extraprovincial societies

3  (1)  In this section "extraprovincial society" means an extraprovincial society as defined in section 1 of the Society Act that under this Act has a business authorization for insurance business.

(2)  Sections 297, 299, 300 (1), 301, 304 to 310, 312, 313 and 315 of the Company Act, as they apply for the purposes of this Act, do not apply to an extraprovincial society that

(a) immediately before the date this regulation comes into force is registered as an extraprovincial society under Part 8 of the Society Act, and

(b) continues to be so registered on and after that date.
