Hongkong Bank Authorization Regulation
Interpretation
1 In this regulation:
"guarantee" means the deed of guarantee, dated October 1, 1996, given by HSBC Holdings plc in respect of the deposit liabilities of the bank;
"the bank" means the Hongkong Bank of Canada.
Authorization
2 Until November 1, 2000, while the guarantee remains in effect, the bank is by this regulation authorized, in the course of conducting, soliciting or advertising deposit business, to describe, in a truthful manner, deposits in the bank by its customers as guaranteed by HSBC Holdings plc.
