Coquihalla Highway Tolls Regulation

 Interpretation

1  In this regulation:

"Act" means the Transportation Act;

"emergency vehicle" has the same meaning as in the Motor Vehicle Act;

"motorcycle" has the same meaning as in the Motor Vehicle Act;

"motor home" has the same meaning as in the Motor Vehicle Act;

"motor vehicle" has the same meaning as in the Motor Vehicle Act;

"tow car" has the same meaning as in the Motor Vehicle Act;

"truck tractor" has the same meaning as in the Commercial Transport Act.

 Toll stations

2  The stations located side by side across the east/west lanes of the Coquihalla Highway, near the Coquihalla Lakes, approximately 60.7 kilometres from Merritt, are established as toll stations for the purposes of this regulation.

 Tolls

3  There must be paid, for a vehicle travelling in either direction on the Coquihalla Highway, the toll amount that is set out, in Column 2 of the Schedule, opposite the class of vehicles, set out in Column 1 of the Schedule, to which the vehicle belongs.

 Manner of collection of tolls

4  The toll referred to in section 3 must be paid to a toll collector on duty at a toll station established under section 2.

 Exempt vehicles

5  The following classes of vehicles are exempted from sections 3 and 4 of this regulation:

(a) bicycles;

(b) emergency vehicles;

(c) a vehicle used in the maintenance or construction of the Coquihalla Highway and operated, in the course of his or her duties, by an employee or agent of the ministry.
