Financial Institutions Act

Prescribed Classes of Insurance for
Insurance Licences Regulation

[includes amendments up to B.C. Reg. 204/2011, July 1, 2012]

Definition

1   In this regulation, "Act" means the Financial Institutions Act.

Prescribed classes of insurance for which insurance licence may be issued by the Insurance Council

2   For the purpose of section 174 (2) (b) of the Act, the prescribed classes of insurance are the following:

(a) general insurance;

(b) life insurance as defined in section 1 (1) of the Classes of Insurance Regulation;

(c) accident and sickness insurance as defined in section 1 (1) of the Classes of Insurance Regulation;

(d) travel insurance as defined in the Insurance Licensing Exemption Regulation.
