On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, orders that the Societies Regulation, B.C. Reg. 216/2015, is amended by adding the following section:
Exclusion for COVID-19 relief funding
12.1 (1) In this section, "COVID-19 relief funding" means funding, by way of a grant, a loan without interest or with interest substantially below the market rate or similar funding, provided by a government, body or other organization referred to in any of paragraphs (a) to (e) of the definition of "government funding" in section 190 of the Act, received
(a) after March 18, 2020 and on or before the date on which the last extension of the declaration of a state of emergency made March 18, 2020 under section 9 (1) of the Emergency Program Act expires or is cancelled, and
(b) in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic, as defined in the COVID-19 Related Measures Act.
(2) COVID-19 relief funding is excluded from the definition of "government funding" in section 190 of the Act.
