 Vapour pressure

4  (1)  A primary distributor must not possess gasoline for sale in the Lower Fraser Valley during the period from April 15 to May 31 and from September 1 to September 15 in each year if the gasoline has a vapour pressure greater than 72 kiloPascals.

(2)  A primary distributor must not possess gasoline for sale in the Lower Fraser Valley during the period from June 1 to July 15 and from August 15 to August 31 in each year if the gasoline has a vapour pressure greater than 62 kiloPascals.

(3)  A primary distributor must not possess gasoline for sale in the Lower Fraser Valley during the period from July 16 to August 14 in each year if the gasoline has a vapour pressure greater than 55 kiloPascals.

(4)  Despite subsections (1) to (3), if

(a) gasoline contains oxygen greater than 3.4% by weight, and

(b) the oxygen is supplied by alcohols produced wholly from biomass or by ethers where the alcohol component of the ether is produced wholly from biomass,

the maximum gasoline vapour pressure is the maximum value in subsection (1), (2) or (3) plus 7 kiloPascals.

[am. B.C. Reg. 3/2007, s. 3.]

Section 4 (2) BEFORE amended by BC Reg 346/2010, effective January 1, 2013.

(2)  A primary distributor must not possess for sale gasoline described in subsection (1) with the grade set out in column 1 of the following table, in the area set out in column 2 opposite that grade for the period set out opposite in column 3, unless the vapour pressure of the gasoline is less than or equal to the sum of the maximum vapour pressure referred to in section 7.13 of the CAN/CGSB 3.511–2005 Oxygenated Unleaded Automotive Gasoline Containing Ethanol plus 7 kiloPascals.
