1 The prescribed diesel emission standard for the class of vehicle to which Division 40A of B.C. Reg. 26/58 applies is the allowable opacity in Column 2 of the following table set out opposite the applicable model year of the vehicle's engine under Column 1:

2 (1) The opacity levels described in column 2 of the table in section 1 are to be measured using the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) J1667 Snap-Acceleration Test.
(2) The model year of a vehicle's engine referred to in section 1 is to be determined in accordance with paragraphs (a) to (c) in that order:
(a) by the year indicated on the engine information label or on the vehicle emissions control label;
(b) if there is no label as described in paragraph (a), by the year of the chassis as indicated on the manufacturer's statement of compliance label;
(c) if there are no labels as described in paragraphs (a) and (b), the model year is to be considered pre-1991.
