Fiscal Agent for Universities Regulation

Definitions

1   In this regulation:

"minister" means the Minister of Finance;

"university" means a university as defined in the College and Institute Act that is a government corporation as defined in the Financial Administration Act.

Fiscal agent of a university

2   (1) The minister is appointed the fiscal agent of each university.

(2) With respect to the borrowing of money under the University Act by a university, the minister, as fiscal agent of the university, on the terms agreed to between that university and the minister, may

(a) provide advice or other assistance to the university, and

(b) make agreements or other arrangements on behalf of the university.

(3) The power and capacity described in subsection (2) of the minister as fiscal agent is in addition to the other powers and capacities the minister has.
