Forestry Service Providers Protection Act

Forestry Service Providers Compensation Fund Regulation

Definitions

1   In this regulation:

"Act" means the Forestry Service Providers Protection Act;

"free growing stand" has the same meaning as in the Forest and Range Practices Act.

Fund established

2   For the purposes set out in section 26 (1) of the Act, the Forestry Service Providers Compensation Fund is established with an initial balance of $5 million, as provided by the government.

Forestry service providers

3   (1) For the purposes of the definition of "services" in section 1 (1) of the Act, the following are prescribed:

(a) activities relating to growing seedlings;

(b) silviculture activities that are necessary, or are required under the Forest and Range Practices Act, to establish free growing stands.

(2) For the purposes of Part 2 of the Act, the class of persons who provide services for a holder of an agreement referred to in section 12 of the Forest Act are designated as forestry service providers.
