RESIGNATION REGULATION

Procedure for employee resignations

1 Subject to the terms of a collective agreement or specific regulation made under the Public Service Act, the procedure respecting employee resignations shall be

(a) an employee wishing to resign should submit a resignation in writing to the employing ministry through normal channels and is expected to give 30 days notice of resignation, or

(b) where an employee does not submit a written resignation but is absent without leave for 3 days immediately following an oral resignation, the employee shall be deemed to have resigned on the date of his oral resignation.
