Pharmacists, Pharmacy Operations and Drug Scheduling Act

ADVISORY COMMITTEE ON VETERINARY
DRUGS REGULATION

Establishment of committee

1 A committee called the Advisory Committee on Veterinary Drugs is established which shall consist of 5 members as follows:

(a) one member nominated by the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia, who shall be the chairman of the committee;

(b) one member nominated by the British Columbia Veterinary Medical Association;

(c) 2 members from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, one of whom shall be the secretary of the committee;

(d) one member from the Ministry of Health.

Duties

2 (1) The chairman may appoint sub-committees comprising members or non-members of the committee, and he shall designate the responsibilities and duties of each sub-committee.

(2) The secretary shall keep proper minutes and record the proceedings of each meeting of the committee.

(3) The committee shall

(a) make recommendations to the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food

(i) on the sufficiency of present legislation dealing with veterinary drugs, and

(ii) as to the enactment of new legislation or changes in existing legislation, and

(b) carry out such investigations as may be requested by the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food.
