Definitions

1In this regulation, "Act" means the Election Act.

Information that may be requested by voter registration form

2An application form referred to in section 35 [application for registration] of the Act may request the following information:

(a)the applicant's gender;

(b)the applicant's driver's licence number;

(c)the last 6 digits of the applicant's social insurance number;

(d)a telephone number at which the applicant may be contacted.

Required information for online voter registration

3If an application referred to in section 35 of the Act is made online through the Elections BC website, the application must include

(a)the applicant's driver's licence number, or

(b)the last 6 digits of the applicant's social insurance number.

Note: this regulation replaces B.C. Reg. 421/95.
