Definitions

1(1)  In this regulation:

"Btk" means the bacterial insecticide Bacillus thuringiensis var. kurstaki;

"eradication zone" means an area outlined in black and labeled as an eradication zone on a map set out in the Appendix to this regulation;

"gypsy moth" means the North American gypsy moth.

Eradication of gypsy moth

2(1)  Subject to subsection (2), an inspector may do the following in an eradication zone:

(a)enter on land in the eradication zone in order to carry out an activity referred to in paragraphs (b) to (d);

(b)apply Btk;

(c)search for or remove gypsy moth eggs;

(d)set or retrieve traps for gypsy moths.

(2)  An inspector may apply Btk in an eradication zone only if the application is done in accordance with the Integrated Pest Management Act and regulations and the inspector is licensed under that Act.

Repeal

3This regulation is repealed July 1, 2006.
